Fossil Fuels (read petrol/diesel) are the biggest conspiracy against poor/developing countries:
1. Most of the imports/foreign currency reserves wasted on this
2. Pollution
3. Making a non-essential an essential part of time.
4. Wasted money on cars/vehicles, bad road infra means 3-4 times more wastage of petrol. I think the petrol and road lobby is hand in glove with each other in BLR
all this expense means diverting key money for development of basics – education’healthcare to non-essential like petrol/vehicles. The only thing govt should do is have rampant public transport infra everywhere. So much so that you can’t miss it even if you want to.
